Standard Country Swing
Our standard country swing intensive courses teach the technique, timing, rhythms, connection, musicality, and stylization for dancers to take their country swing dancing to the next level.
Developed to help prepare dancers for both national social swing dancing and national standard modern country swing competition, these courses are 8 weeks each, building on dance concepts to create a solid understanding of dance in general, and what makes quality country swing dancing.
Space for these courses are limited to 30 dancers.
Partners are not needed, but are encouraged.

100 Level Intensive Courses
The 100 level intensive courses are designed to prepare students for beginner level modern country swing competitions. By the end of this set of courses, students will have a strong understanding of the dance concepts of floor patterns, connection, rhythm, timing, musicality, stylization, and showmanship needed to compete at beginner level competitions with confidence and skill.
Country Swing 101
Next class Saturdays from 4:30pm-6:00pm
Starting January 18th-March 8th (Saturdays Full!)

Starting January 14th-March 4th (Tuesdays open)
This course introduces the basics of country swing and variations with emphasis in beginner connection technique, floor patters, and rhythm.
No prior dance experience is required for this course.
Country Swing 102
This course builds on the 101 class by introducing various types of double turns that add changes in speed, rhythms, and floor patterns to the dance. Additional connection and timing techniques are also practiced throughout the course.
An beginner understanding of stylization and showmanship is also practiced throughout the course.
Completion of our 101 course is required to sign up for this class. You can also test into this course.
Country Swing 103
This course introduces the stagger step rhythm, and how to execute moves in orbit and linear, and how to better understand various methods of timing. It includes sweetheart, cuddle, and hammerlock positions. This course also focuses on what basic musicality is and techniques to use basic musicality.
Completion of our 102 course is required to sign up for this class. You can also test into this course.
200 Level Intensive Courses
The 200 level intensive courses are designed to prepare students for improver/intermediate modern country swing competitions. By the end of this set of courses, students will have a deep understanding of the dance concepts of floor patterns, connection, rhythm, timing, musicality, stylization, and showmanship, an intermediate level extensive repertoire, and basic skill sets for creating new and unique movement patterns and rhythms.
Any student who has completed the 100 level courses can enter into any of the 200 level courses at any time, and 200 level courses do not have to be taken in order. Each course is designed to develop combination moves that align with specific movement patterns, and each will include a range of technique drills, and types of moves to create those combinations.
Two separate course are run each session. You may sign up for either or both. Each will cover different curriculum. See below for course descriptions.

Country Swing 200A
Improver/Intermediate Change Steps
This course focuses on variations of change steps, and how to maintain integrity while executing change steps. It also leads to building basic combinations. Triple Changes and basic chaine turns are also investigated.

Improver/Intermediate Spins
This course focuses on individual spins. Includes power turns, chaine turns, braking methods, rides, and melting pots.

Improver/Intermediate Combination Turns
This course works on combination turns such as triple turns, turnstile, baseball throws, and illusion turns.

Country Swing 200D
Improver/Intermediate Direct Circuit Orbital Motions
This course focuses on moving through the direct circuit positions while in an orbital motion. This course covers many traditional country swing movements and how to execute them in modern country swing rhythm.

Compression Settling
This course focuses on moves that settle using compression, such as forward and side settles.

This course focuses on executing linear motions such as whips, slot crossing, slingshots, and shunts.

Country Swing 200G
Improver/Intermediate Creating Flair
This course focuses on flairs that can be added to moves to create additional stylization, such as swirls, head rolls, scoops, and grooving.

Improver/Intermediate Dip Variations
This course focuses on variations dips such as tether dips, counter balance dips, spiral dips, tilts and pendulums.
